Southern Ohio Networking Group General Policies

  1. Only one person from each profession classification is permitted membership to SONG. Officers and Membership committee have the final authority relating to classification conflicts.
  2. Members must represent their one and only occupation. Multiple business representation is not permitted as it takes a seat away from a potential new member.
  3. The weekly meeting will last for 1 hour. The meeting begins promptly at 8:00am. Members need to arrive on time and stay for the entire meeting.
  4. All cell phones and other noise making devices should be turned off or silent for the meeting.
  5. It is highly recommended that members arrive 15 minutes prior to the meeting to have a chance to mingle and network.
  6. SONG members may bring and pass out support materials such as brochures, fliers and marketing material before or after the meeting.
  7. Attendance is critical to the group’s success. If a member cannot attend, you may send a substitute to the meeting. This does not count as an absence. A member is allowed to have 3 absences every six months. If a member exceeds 3 absences the leadership team has the right to reevaluate their membership.
  8. Members are required to bring legitimate referrals and visitors to the meeting. If you don’t have a referral, it is the member’s responsibility to give a positive testimonial about the group.
  9. Visitors may attend up to 2 networking meetings before they are required to fill out the application.
  10. The weekly speakers must bring a door prize with a $20.00 value. Members will have the opportunity to do 10 minute presentation on a rotating basis.
  11. One meeting a month is set aside for the opportunity to brainstorm with each other and ensure everyone is benefiting from the group.
  12. For members that have medical issues they can take an 8 week medical leave once approved by the leadership team.
  13. It is the member’s concern with the Leadership Team if a visitor submits an application that conflicts with any current member.
  14. Application for membership does not guarantee acceptance – it is the sole discretion of the membership committee to accept new members.
  15. Members who wish to change their classification must submit a new application and get approval from the officers and Membership Committee.
  16. The Officers and Membership Committee may open a member’s classification for failure to comply with the policies and the code of ethics of SONG.
  17. Policies are subject to change. The Officer will notify all members of any change.
  18. The Officers and Membership Committee must agree to the terms of their office in order to hold the position
  19. An individual member should not be a member of any other group that allows only one person per profession and whose primary purpose is to pass referrals to one another in the same geographical area. Officer and Membership Committee have full authority in this area.
